The Korean government, in particular the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), has begun developing policy measures to enhance access to research data drawn from publicly-funded research projects since last October. The currently approved national strategy, the Strategy to Promote Sharing and Use of Research Data for Innovative Growth, proposes a more systematic approach with multiple policy measures. TheStrategyis expected to greatlyinfluence the way in which research data isproduced, managed and shared among researchers in South Korea. ThisKorean case report will specify background information, key content and organizations, and expected outcomes of the Strategy.
