The OECD will host the 7th Statistical Information System Collaboration Community (SIS-CC) workshop at the OECD Conference Centre, 2, rue André Pascal, Paris, France, from 1.30pm on Monday 3 April 2017 to 6pm on Tuesday 4 April 2017.
The first two days, as with the previous workshops (held in March 2011, March 2012, April 2013, April 2014, March 2015, and April 2016), are open sessions and the OECD extends the invitation to other interested groups and organisations who may be considering using one of the SIS tools and wanted to know more about the community to learn from their experiences.
This year the workshop theme will focused on “Sustainable Data for Development - Building an inclusive data ecosystem”, exploring new models to support developing countries in building data dissemination capabilities, leveraging the SIS-CC community model into a broader alliance for data. The discussion will draw on the dimensions identified in 2016: new business model (hybrid open source, community model), service centric and componentised architecture (SDMX, CSPA), distributed software development (agile) – with the addition of one more dimension: capacity building, or what could be the model for a systematic sharing of knowledge and know how based on common approaches and tools. The workshop will be guided by recent research by Paris21.
A highlights report will be shared int he coming weeks.
